5112 Hot Meals donated by Sewri Chapter

Our Sewri Chapter organised a fundraiser for the AG Relief Programme in August 2021.

AG Relief Programme is run by a group of Ashok Garden residents who have come together to feed the needy outside KEM and TB Hospital in Parel. They feed 100 hot meals a day twice a week. And we are extremely proud of the residents in Sewri Chapter who have wholeheartedly contributed to help us raise enough funds to support 5112 Hot Meals.

And that’s not all! Our wonderful Chefs contributed by preparing hot meals for 4 days of distribution. That’s 400 hot meals of some really tasty, healthy and fresh poha, upma and idli sambar.

Vaccination drive at Godrej Central Chapter

Community is something which stands by its members and pitches in when needed, isn’t it? MyTree community holds true to this each time. 

GCT recently organised a vaccination drive for all its residents. Shrutika, our proactive Chapter Champion from RNA Continental, pitched in and organised chefs from her chapter to provide healthy home-cooked meals as guest chefs on GCT Chapter.

MyTree Chefs at GCT got vaccinated in peace while their customers were being fed by Chefs from RNAC Chapter.

Sisterhood at its best!

But that’s not all…We also had some braveheart MyTree Chefs at GCT who still managed to delight their customers with mouth watering food in spite of getting vaccinated themselves.

Khichdi for a cause by Bandra Chapter!

Our Bandra Chapter collaborated with Lions Club of Juhu to distribute khichdi boxes to the needy at Juhu Beach during Chirstmas in 2021.

About 250 khichdi boxes were prepared by five MyTree Chefs of Bandra Chapter. Three cheers to our Chefs – Sumangala Shetty, Mamta Bhatia, Kalpana Bade, Rekha Kamble and Ranjana Bhambri.

Funds were also raised from customers in our Bandra Chapter to support the cause.

Tête-à-tête with Captain Thanmai Papagiri

On International Women’s Day MyTree celebrated the grand success of Captain Thanmai Papgiri.

Thanmai co-piloted the much celebrated Air India inaugural flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru that flew over the North Pole! A truly inspiring woman.

Mid-day features Chef Delna’s ‘Topli Nu Paneer’

It’s heartwarming to see traditions and traditional dishes being kept alive… and getting due recognition for it.

On the occasion of International Cheese Day, Chef Delna Tamboly from our Sewri Chapter was featured in Mid-day for her traditional Parsi cheese – Topli Nu Paneer.

The recipe of this Parsi delicacy has been passed on to her by her mom-in-law. Delna says, “I source ingredients from abroad as they are difficult to find in India. Even the toplis (little baskets) in which the paneer is set are made to order as they not easily available in the market.”

Topli nu paneer has a unique taste and as the tale goes, “If you love it, you will love it. And if you don’t, you won’t touch it!”

It’s commendable to see the effort put in by Delna to make available this traditional dish for everyone to enjoy!!

Mid-day features Chef Sapna’s ‘Sushi Modak’

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, our Chef Sapna Poddar’s ‘Sushi Modak’ was featured in the Mid-day.

Yes! You heard it right! It’s a fusion of Sushi and Modak.

Sapna is an innovative chef who loves experimenting with food. “I wanted to do something different and Ganpati festivities are incomplete without Modak. So tried making Sushi Modak!” she says.

She learnt making Sushis last year during lockdown and has not looked back since then. She has tried her hands at all kinds of Sushis and innovated many of her own. We can easily call her our Sushi Queen.

No doubt her new recipe is a hit.

Chef Tushar wins the Silver Spoons Award

Congratulations to Chef Tushar Toprani from our Sewri Chapter for winning the prestigious Silver Spoons Awards ’21 in Eggless Baking category!

Tushar has been selected from among a large number of pan India entries scrutinized by an eminent panel of Judges comprising Rakhee Vaswani, Varun Inamdar, Kunal Arolkar, Suprio Purnima Bose, Simran Oberoi, Gaurav Wadhwa, Maaria Kulsum Tanveer.

The focus was on cakes sans fondant and Tushar is an expert at that!

Tushar is a Chartered Accountant by profession and bakes for passion. It’s inspiring how he seamlessly manages both!

Winning ‘Mango Malpua’ by Chef Pratibha

A big congratulations to MyTree Chef Pratibha Jamdar for winning first prize at Dadar Mango Festival for her exclusive dish ‘Mango Malpua’.

36 chefs across Mumbai participated and brought their best mango dishes to the competition.

The competition was judged by celebrity chef Tushar Priti Deshmukh, and Veena Prabhu.

This yummy mango recipe was meticulously created by Chef Pratibha after many attempts to perfect it.

Bombay Buffet’ for Khaki Tours

Khaki Tours requested MyTree to curate the menu for their Women’s Day special fundraiser dinner with the theme ‘Bombay Buffet’. An opportunity we grabbed with both hands. And what a marvellous job our Chefs have done!
